Food

In my Commercial and Illustration class, we started a new journey of food photography. From day one I have been captivated and excited to explore this kind of photography. I could definitely see a career in food photography. So, yesterday I spent over two hours in the studio at school creating a food photograph and a beverage photograph for class next week. I planned out every last detail of the shoot and I must say they came out pretty awesome. However, I am saving the pics for a new blog and/or website I would like to create showcasing my food and beverage photos. In the meantime, enjoy a photo of a kiwi.  Stay tuned...

Portraits

I started teaching photography to a new class last week of coalition kids. The kids are so excited to learn photography and many have never even picked up a camera before! It's always so exciting to see the kids learn to take pictures. Here are a few portraits I did of some of the kids.

Officer Crispin's Funeral

Attending a funeral for a police officer killed in the line of duty will give you chills. It's amazing the respect that the officer receives from agencies all over the United States. One of these funerals is one too many. Even though I love to photograph them, I hope to never have to attend another one.

school time

Today was back to school time and it was bitter sweet. Isaac started kindergarten and was super excited. We walked him up to his waiting area and his teacher then led the kids to the classroom. Isaac didn't even look back...he walked away with a smile on his face. The house was very quiet when I got home. I was so used to Isaac being home with me. Jeremy started second grade and "wasn't sure" if he was excited or not about it. Ethan started middle school and wasn't the least bit nervous. I even offered to walk him up to his class but he quickly replied "Nope, I got this."  He loved being able to be free in school. No more lines to walk in..no more teacher by your side in the halls. All three boys survived the first day..I guess I did too ;)
